Earn air miles while taking the train? Of course! Amtrak has a new program, called Guest Rewards. You earn points whenever you book Amtrak travel. The points are redeemable for a variety of things including Continental Airlines OnePass miles, United Airlines Mileage Plus miles or Midwest Express Airlines miles.

Kelloggs has a mileage promotion with American Airlines on certain brands of their Kelloggs and Healthy Choice cereals as well as assorted brands of cereal and snack bars. There are 100 mile certificates printed on boxes of various products. Ten 100 mile AAdvantage certificates are to be mailed in for each 1000 miles to be posted automatically to your AAdvantage account.

Have some miles but have given up on accumulating enough for a free plane ticket? Redeem those miles for free magazine subscriptions! You can then order the magazines but instead of paying for them with currency, you can get them with your miles.
